Belonging is beautiful
Community Collective.
A sense of cohesiveness with others is incredibly beneficial to our wellbeing. Yet, in today’s technological world, we risk isolation and disengagement. There could well be a significant link between the advances in social media and the increased mental health issues we face in the western world. Less presence & connection can lead to depression, detachment, even loneliness. You see, it is human nature to interact, to bond, to care and to share time & experiences together.
It could even be said that we need each other to live a healthy balanced life. It is those relationships with family, friends, peers and even work colleagues that bring true meaning to our every day lives. It is often the memories spent together that we draw upon to feel uplifted. These reflections help us make sense of who we are and how we measure up in terms of self-value and self-esteem. Interaction also enables us to see things from another point of view, which is so often a positive thing.
So, lets live with love and prioritise relationships with others – call a friend, surprise mum, socialise at work and greet strangers. It’s amazing how these acts can reduce tension, boost moods and energy levels all round.
Get into the spirit of summer and take some time offline. Be in the moment at social gatherings with family and friends. Try new things and be open to meet new people – you never know where it may lead.
Exchange plenty of; kindness, acknowledgments, compliments, attendance, compassion and smiles for all.
It is so often the simplest gestures that can change everything for the better. Make a difference to your day and indeed all who may come your way.
