Each month the beauty industry is flooded with new names and products. They then become our must have face cream, cannot live without shampoo and overall cult product (Glam Glow I’m talking about you). In the last few years everyone has become more aware of organic and natural brands such as Neal’s Yard. People are beginning to think of ‘eco-friendliness’ and the effect they have not only on the earth but also themselves. Our image has always been important to us but knowing we can use natural products to enhance it has allowed for the ethical beauty trend to boom. Its all about looking good and being good.
So lets begin with our list of the top ten natural products on the market today:
Balm Balm - 100% organic skincare they believe that beauty should be transparent and contain no nasty ingredients. No animal testing whatsoever which we totally agree with. Their Tea Tree foot balm makes the hardest of heels soft, perfect investment for the Summer time.
A’kin - This Australian brand cater to all skin types and skin problems which is an added bonus. People who suffer from psoriasis should definitely try their products as it has rave reviews. Their haircare range gives the option to buy for what would suit your type of hair and even unscented for the very sensitive. They work hard to ensure all products are ‘paraben free, sulphate free, toxin free, harsh chemical free, certified vegan, animal ingredient free and animal testing free’. Need I say anymore?
Aubrey Organics - This company comes a personal recommendation from our editor. In particular their Honeysuckle Rose Shampoo and Conditioner which not only smells great but works on even the driest of hair. As a company they use only herbal, plant extracts and natural vitamins in all of their products. No paraben preservatives, no petrochemicals, no artificial colors or fragrances of any kind.
Skin & Tonic London - They only use 7 or less ingredients in their products as they believe ‘less really is more’. The oils come from non-sprayed plants meaning they haven’t been contaminated with any chemicals. The range is made by hand, 100% cruelty free and recycled glass – don’t get much more natural than that.
Root and Flower - Not only is this range going to be good for your face, it will also look good in your home! Such lovely packaging and smells delicious. Made from natural itself they opt to use seed, nut and plant extracts.
Neal’s Yard - Known for being one of Britain’s best ethical organic brand. Their motto is that ‘beauty should be natural, not synthetic’. Their blue bottle is their trademark look. They make products for skincare, bath, aromatherapy and remedies which are all natural.
Cowshed - A more luxurious brand, Cowshed have several spas around the world now since launching in 1998. Moods are their inspiration for creating the products; Knackered Cow has lavender and eucalyptus oils which is renowned for having a calming effect on people. The branding is also genius! Being the trendy label they are, they even have a quinoa moisturiser!
Burt’s Bees - The global brand famous for its lip care and use of honey have brought out hair products that are amazing! They leave your hair silky soft and scalp so clean. Their motto is whatever is put on your body should be made from natures very best. All natural and smell lovely. This one is not suitable for vegans.
Dr Bronner’s - Fairtrade and naturally organic certified, Dr Bronner’s has been around for a long time and renowned for its multiuse purposes. Their packaging is so detailed and mentions all ingredients used. The soap below is there go to product.
Fushi - The well-known British brand do everything from skincare, hair and even ranges for yoga. With a unique blend of essential oils and herbs their range does not disappoint. Their shampoos smell great but I wouldn’t just stick with buying one product from them; explore the range it won’t disappoint.
